The Office of the Director, Academic Courses was established to administer all academic matters of the University Departments and Affiliated Engineering Colleges, Anna University Chennai. This office is responsible for organizing meetings of all Academic bodies such as Syllabus Sub Committees, Boards of Studies, Standing Committees and Academic Council: preparing lesson plans and the academic schedule for all the U.G. and P.G. programmes.

• ➤ Formation of Curriculum/Syllabus.
• ➤ Approval of Special Electives for Ph.D. Students.
• ➤ Handling of Break of Study/ Rejoining/Withdrawal from End Semester Examination     (Only for Students of University Departments and not for affiliated colleges).
• ➤ Issue of Eligibility Certificate.
• ➤ Approval of Addition/Exemption of courses for transfer/ Break of Study candidates.
• ➤ Approval of Internship/ Online study/ Self study/ Foreign Exchange programmes     (Only for students of University Departments and not for affiliated colleges).
• ➤ Facilitating the formation of different committees(Academic Council, Standing Committee, Board of Studies, Syllabus Sub Committees) for formation of Regulations and Curriculum and Syllabus.
• ➤ Formation of Department Consultative Committee(University Departments).
• ➤ Nomination of Representatives for Autonomous colleges for Governing Council,      Academic Council and Board of Studies.
• ➤ Fixing of the Academic Schedule
• ➤ Forwarding of Application for extension of maximum period of study.
• ➤ Issue of Attested copies of the syllabus to the students.
